Terrain Sculpturing

With the eight Terraform tools, you may easily sculpt the terrain by using a brush to push (lower), pull(raise), grab (push and pull), smooth, flatten (level), erode, smudge (push), or add ramp.

  1. Press down the Terraform button in the Toolbar.

  2. In the Terraform panel, press down one of the tool buttons.

  3. Click and drag to paint on the terrain to create its folds.

    Raise and Lower

    Raise Up

    Lower Down

    Raise and Lower Tools
    Softness: 1
    (Suitable for creating gradual terrain)

    Raise and Lower Tools
    Softness: 0.5
    (Suitable for creating canyon)

    Level, Grab, Smooth and Erode

    Level
    (To even the terrain, in the radius range,
    to the same height of the center.
    Suitable for creating tablelands.)

    Grab
    (Click and drag up to raise up.
    Click and drag down to lower down.)

    Smooth

    Erode
    (To increase the detail folds.)

    Push (Smudge Terrain)

    When you use the Push tool, the Softness value affects the result tremendously.

    Softness = 0
    Result: Edge-Jagged Stroke

    Softness = 1
    Result: Edge-Smoothed Stroke

    Ramp (Suitable for creating ramps)

    1. Specify the Radius value for the ramp tool.

    2. Click on the terrain as the start spot of the ramp.

    3. Drag your mouse to the desired end spot of the ramp.

    4. Release the mouse button to generate the ramp.

    Radius (Defining the width of the ramp)

    Radius = 10

    Radius = 50

    Softness (Rounding the edges of the ramp)

    Softness = 0

    Softness = 1

Note:

  • You can press down Shift + Click and Drag mouse to alter the Radius of the brush.

  • You can temporarily switch between raise and lower tools by holding the Ctrl key

  • When you utilize the Raise tool to pull up the terrain, you may encounter the sudden tableland issue which stops you from raising the terrain:

    It is because the raising height reaches the maximum Height value set in the Terrain panel. Please increase the value before you sculpting a new terrain.
