FBX export with Face Puppet
Hi,
I create character animations in iClone 8 and record facial expressions and eye blinks with Face Puppet before exporting them as FBX.
However, when I import the FBX into Cinema4D or Twinmotion, the facial animation does not work. Also, in the online manual (https://manual.reallusion.com/iClone-8/Content/ENU/8.41/83-FBX/Export-Expressions-as-Morph.htm), the 'Expression as Morph' button is mentioned, but instead, I see 'Convert Skinned Expression to Morphs'. How can I export facial animation in the FBX data?

Thanks,
Keigo

Hi,

The “Expression as Morph” in iClone 8.41 was changed to “Convert Skinned Expression to Morphs” in iClone 8.5, however the functionality is exactly the same. Hence the export should export the expressions as morphs.

Please make sure the Target Tool Preset in the Export FBX dialog were set to the corresponding software you are using. And also select “All” in the Export Range so all expression clips could be exported.
