Easier Way to Rig PSD and/or Vector Characters or Update the training
Can you please develop within the app an easier way to rig characters. I know rigging in general is not easy but when I look at a preconfigure human rig that can be added to any 3d human character in Blender and when i look at Mixamo website with their automatic rig and animation I believe CA5 rigging can be done in an easier way.
After 2 months of owning CA5 I've follow these steps below and I still don't have my 4 vector character rig properly ...its either the instructions doesn't make sense or if the instructions make some what sense the rig doesn't work still.
If you read the comments on the last link on youtube you will see multiple people having the same issue of rigging their characters.
I don't mind buying a rig character from the Reallusion Market place but I don't want to have the same characters that everybody else can purchase because I can not build up my own brand with the same characters that everybody else uses.
Even though I've spend on average 10-20 hours a week trying to rig my characters I will still continue to try to rig my characters on my own until hopefully I can accidently get it to work. I would ask for help on the Reallusion forums but it doesn't seem like nobody answer any post on there so I'm not going to waste my time to post on the forums. Hopefully somebody on here read this post and can either create an easier way for users of CA5 to rig their characters and/or update the training for rigging characters to work better. At this point in time I regret buying cartoon animator 5
I can accidently get it to work. That's kind of what I ultimately had to rely on. We are basically debuggers when it comes to making a custom character from scratch. Once a character is actually working (by accident or discovering a work around for some quirk) it's amazing, but being one who has made a few dozens of high end characters from scratch, I've realized that unless you know what issues there are, and what causes things to not work, you are going to be frustrated.
I'm starting the process of using other software to actually see if CTA5 has a competitor, and so far, by the time it takes me to get a fully rigged, custom character with numerous options for mouths, hands, hair, accessories, etc, working in CTA5, I could have been done with the morophing in another software, and it looks amazing.
So I'm going to start adding other software like Moho, Adobe Animate, Adobe Character Animation, and newere AI animation software coming out like crazy. The biggest advantage I see with CTA5 is still their ease of reusing memorized animations and importing 3D motions. Although, with custom characters it can be a bit strange unless that character setup is done to absolute perfection, which takes it precious time, almost making it more worth it learning something like Toon Boom, which is time consuming but you are not spending the time on getting somethign working, as much as you are working directly with the vector animations.
So either way it's a win-lose in time spent, but once you have characters that are working 100%, esp. in CTA5 (CTA4 was nightmarish when it crashed) then it's quick animations, but it lacks the subtle things one ends up remaking in after effects or another software, hence the suggestions of a DRAWING LAYER and PHYSICS and WIND effects.

This is a common issue even before CTA5. Rigging is very complext and time consuming with CTA. I will try to see if I can simplify this process as well, as it's the key to a proper animation in the software, but a major frustration to many avid users of CTA4 and CTA5.
