A collection of 7 different models of the famous French rifle "Lebel 1886 - Mod 93" well known to collectors and fighters of the Great War.
Modeled and textured from several models. The loading lever (bolt) as well as the adjustable rear sight are also mobile and can be animated independently.
The
French Lebel 1886 rifle was the first weapon to use the famous
"B" cartridges, (in French "poudre Blanche" or "white powder") which was a revolution in the art of war.
It was especially the rifle of the
first world war where France was literally "bled white".
Very accurate and allowing a loading of 8 cartridges (in reality, it was possible to feed the rifle with 10 cartridges as follows: 8-round tube magazine +1 in the elevator +1 in the chamber)
As most of the French rifles, this weapon did not have a
safety lever... and was of a frightening precision on the battlefield.
Note: After the 1940 armistice (the French army used for this conflict
the famous MAS 36),
several hundred thousand Lebel 1886 - Mod 93 were recovered by the Nazis who transformed it and used it to arm the famous
"volksturm".
