Selfie camera // "Look at" when Linking
Hello,

I would like to make a character that shoots footage of her self with her phone (selfie). The "look at" feature would be perfect for this, but iClone doesn't let me utilize it as the camera is linked to the characters hand.
I'm using mocap data of a person actually holding a phone...

Is there a workaround for doing this?

Best,
Johnny

Hi!
No that is not what I need.
I need the camera to be attached to the hand, and the character to look at the camera.
Like a selfie:

1. create > Primitive Shape > Sphere
2. Sphere "Attach to" Hand
3. Set your pose
4. Create Camera
5. Avatar "Look at" Camera (Not preview camera)
6. Camera "Look at" Head
7. Camera "Linkage to" Sphere

camera and preview camera is different
Linkage must be the last step

hope this is what you are looking for

Hi Melvin,

Thank you for the tip.

Unfortunately I need the camera to be linked to the hand, not the head.
Also, I tried your suggestion but I'm only getting the same error message:

"Look-at failed. The selected item cannot look at a sub-object of itself."

All help is much appreciated. Let me know if you find a way. :)
Thank you!

Hi johnny.kangasniemi ,

Thanks for your feedback.
Here is the tip provide to you. You can create the sphere, square anything just props, then attaching it to the avatar's head. Link camera to that prop, and make it visible.
You will get the result of the camera is linked to the avatar's head.
Hope this will help.

Melvin
