Query on my Rokoko interfacing with CA5
I've had issues with my project not being utilize to use The Rokoko data that I'm sending to CA5. Specifically, I've created characters that are not facing straight on or side view. For mocap the side view (such as walking) animations work fine. Walking towards the camera is a bit iffy, as the legs don't work correctly (they move up and down like pistons instead of looking like actual footsteps). The real challenge comes when trying to animate a character sitting down from a slight perspective view. If I keep my movements is suit restrained I can get acceptable animations. However, raising arms or leaning forward don't seem to work very well. In fact, of the 74 scenes in the project I think only 8 were able to use the Rokoko suit and 3-4 used canned animation from CA5 itself, which, I might add, worked very well. I've had the suit for 3 years and wish I could utilize it more. Not sure how to get the animations interface correctly with CA5. The animations in Rokoko seem clean. Since I can't export the files I have to perform scenes live and save them as separate projects. I have changed the profiles both in Rokoko and in CA5 (Left, 3/4 front, front, 3/4 right, right facing) but can't get a good result on any of them. Have I reached a limitation of mocap for 2d? Is it more geared for straight on animations, i.e., no 3/4 views?
