I've been meaning to write this for a long time. This actually is a global issue related to iClone as well.
ALL edit modes (edit animation layer, edit mesh, edit weights, etc...) are suffering from poorly designed user interface.
I have not seen any other app where the keyboard/mouse shortcuts are so counter-intuitive. Some people are complaining about Blender. Blender is a paradise to work in compare to CC for instance.
In all edit modes, mouse clicks do absolutely nothing! How is that? In all edit modes panning/rotating camera is an integrated part of a workflow. You change it almost every second. We are working in 3D for a moment. For every single vertex/face move, you may want to view it from a dozen of different angles before you get it right. And yet for every camera move/rotate, I have to click something on a keyboard, loose gizmo or brush, and then on top of all, to get back to edit I have to hit Q. All this, while ALL mouse buttons are practically unused. In Mesh Edit mode left mouse button is used to select mesh. I would rather have mesh selected with keyboard button +LMC and use all 3 mouse buttons for camera move/rotate in ALL edit modes and keep Gizmo/Brush on screen at all times.
So please make camera view integrated into edit workflow using all available mouse buttons. Make the edit modes uninterrupted!
It can be resolved with a 3D space mouse support but its been requested 6 years already but they wont implement it apparently. Alt + left mouse button + right mouse button what a joke, 3 buttons for zoom in and out, and on top of that you could lose your selection current edit item. . . Not even Industry standard navigation.
