Change the color/transparency of the mesh editing grid.
I would like to be able to change the color/transparency of the mesh editing mode grid. These white lines are pretty annoying...

No, in the Preference panel you can only change the world grid color, not the MESH MODE color!

you could change the color in the Preference panel but no opacity option right now
