Assigning the textures to a FBX character
Hi RL,

I have 3DXChange 5 and 6 and I noticed the following different behavior, which puzzles me:

- in version 5, I can assign a texture to the Diffuse channel of an imported FBX file and the texture correctly appears
- in version 6, given THE SAME FBX FILE, after assigning the same texture in the same way as just described, the texture does not appear

No idea what I am missing: any suggestion is more than welcomed...

Thanks
Cheers

Hi Roberto,

It would be better if you could provide the FBX file you created to us, please send it to feedbacktrackeradmin@reallusion.com.

If the file is too large to send, please upload the FBX file to Dropbox, Google Drive or other Cloud Drive, then provide the authority to allow us downloading the files and send the link of your Cloud Drive to feedbacktrackeradmin@reallusion.com.

Thank you very much for your generous help.

Hi,

here are the steps.

1. Open 3DXChange 6.5
2. Drag&Drop a FBX file
The FBX it is a rigged (done in Blender) version of an astronaut model that can be freely downloaded from Nasa website
3. Select one of their mesh parts and one of the associated material
4. Click the Diffuse channel and load any .jpg

In 3DXChange 5.5, the loaded diffuse JPG is displayed, whereas in 3DXhange 6.5 is not.

Pls, let me know how can I submit the .FBX file to you

Regards

  Roberto

Hi Roberto,

Thank you very much for your feedback.

In order for us to fix the issue, we need to be able to reproduce it. For this we need a precise description of what you did so that we can clearly follow your actions and recreate the same situation.

Here is an example to help you get started:

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Click the product’s icon on the Desktop or Start Menu
2. Wait for it to launch
3. Navigate to Content Manage > Project
4. Select a random project and click on “Apply”
5. See whether that project can successfully be applied

ACTUAL RESULTS
The project can’t be applied

EXPECTED RESULTS
The project can be applied

Your understanding and patience are greatly appreciated.
