Right now, if you change the background color in the project, it changes the color of both the safe area and the preview window. The only way to change the background color of the safe area is to import an image with the fill color.
I would like the ability to only change the background color of the safe area. The reason this feature is needed is because depending on the color used, the safe area is hard to identify.
No, re the proposed solution from reallusion above.
Please note that this only changes the colour INSIDE the area, not outside in the safe zone.
In a way, it only solves the problem of needing 2 different colours UNTIL we start to fill the scene with props and backgrounds.
But the moment we fill our scenes with props, skies, walls etc, we can no longer see the different colours in the background, and the edge of the project becomes nearly impossible to see again.
So In my Suggestion #6 of Issue 9451, I suggest that the safe area should be a different colour in the Layer level, not the background level... and that the darker colour should be opaque (with custom opacity) so we can still see and control props off stage, just before they make their entrances.
Please upvote and comment on #6 if you agree please?

I also wanted to add that loading projects made in dark mode into a light mode UI changes the color of the preview view. This is annoying if you want to change only the UI.
