Product:
3DXchange 6
Version:
6.42
Status:
Released in 6.5
Issue 312
3DXchange no longer includes the Root Bone in Exported CC Characters
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Create Character in CC
2. Send the Character to 3dXchange
3. Export to FBX

ACTUAL RESULT
CC Character FBX does not include the root bone. Losing backwards compatibility with content created in 6.3 and before and making it not compatible with Unreal Engine default Skeleton (It needs a Root bone).

There's a walk around in which the Root Bone can be added via Maya, but Morph Targets are not being imported in UE4 properly. (We lose the Morph Targets in Unreal Engine if we do it like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6QGh06nF6 and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-qpyZkF1LWE )

PREVIOUS RESULT IN 6.3
CC Character FBX has a "Root Bone", named "CC_Standard" by default.

EXPECTED/SUGGESTED RESULT
To add a checkbox in the FBX Export options, so the user can choose to either include the root bone or not, and then make it compatible with projects created before 6.3 and after.
