PAIRING WITH DYNAMIC ACCESSORIES

iClone Motion+ (Motion Plus) is an advanced animation format that integrates facial performances and metadata for attached accessories. It supports a variety of sophisticated animations, including cycling and skateboarding. Motion+ features automatic accessory attachment, model and material randomization, and precise motion and accessory alignment via motion editing.

AUTO LOAD
Once a MotionPlus file is applied to an iClone character, items with matching tags will automatically attach themselves. With hundreds of tagged accessories available on ActorCore and the option to customize your own, the possibilities for any scenario are endless. Manual
MODEL ASSIGNMENT
Adding your own Motion Plus models enables accessory swapping for the same performance. At any moment, the default model can be recalled, or a specific model can be reapplied.
MATERIAL ASSIGNMENT
Similar to assigning custom models, adding Motion Plus materials can vary the look of the attached accessories for greater visual variety.
ACCESSORY SWAP
Accessories can be dragged and dropped onto existing models for replacement. The positioning of the original models is retained for the replacements, preventing overlap with neighboring meshes.
PROP TO ACCESSORY
Props can be easily dragged and dropped onto existing accessories for seamless replacement. When deployed in this manner, props are automatically converted into accessories and behave accordingly.
BODY FITTING
Regardless of body type, Smart Accessories can adapt to various body shapes and sizes. Smart Accessories will properly align to their intended positions while retaining structural integrity, whether stiff or form-fitting.
MOTION & ACCESSORY ALIGNMENT
The animated accessory design allows users to easily combine MotionPlus animation clips. For example, you can apply, combine, rotate, blend, and trim both human and accessory motions as a single animation, without needing to micro-edit two separate objects.

MOTION-ACCESSORY PAIRING
Motion Plus supports the inclusion of multiple accessories for a specific motion. When set, default accessories can be restored on the character, or specific accessories can be assigned as needed. This flexibility allows for detailed customization of character animations by integrating various accessories onto the animated character. Manual

PLACEMENT POINTS & VISIBILITY KEYS

MULTIPLE PLACEMENT POINTS
One accessory item supports multiple placement points. For instance, a sword can be held with either one or both hands, and sheathed at any designated body location. The attachment point can be chosen while right-dragging the accessory onto a character. Manual
MOTION PLACEMENT
A handy Motion-Acc Pairing panel lets you define the attachment points for the accessory when paired with a Motion+ file. The motion-accessory pairing is stored in the Motion+ file and triggers when the motion is applied.
ACCESSORY VISIBILITY
Motion Plus supports visibility keys, allowing you to quickly switch accessory positions during animation. This feature is crucial for moving items between hands or relocating them around the body.

MOCAP
Human and prop mocap data can now be combined into a single, fluid Motion+ sequence. This integration benefits teams and studios of all sizes by enabling seamless clip connection and unified animation editing.
HANDKEY
Accessories can be animated using keyframes, the Curve Editor, or by importing FBX data. In addition to motion, particle effects, PopcornFX, materials, and lighting are also fully animatable.
PHYSICS
iClone physics simulation is instrumental in creating lifelike accessory dynamics. Calculated rigidbody and soft-cloth animations can be baked into the base animation of a moving accessory and even synced to a loaded motion file.

ACTOR GROUP
Automated accessory placement allows you to define the types of accessories that different Actor Groups can wear or carry. The distribution of these props can be deliberate, random, or a mix of both. Tutorial | Manual

MIXER MOTION
Mixer animations allow for dynamic blending of upper- and lower-body movement. Now, animation triggers can not only play back animation but also spawn corresponding accessories for 3D actors to interact with.   Tutorial  |  Manual

DRAG / PUSH
3D actors can move items around the scene, such as pushing a cart or pulling rolling luggage. Items moved this way will strictly follow the directions given by hotkey commands or controller steering. MD PROP

Unique animations can be associated with specific MD props with customized radial menus. MotionPlus files can be menu triggered, playing back human motion and accessory animation with optional visibility keys.

CROWD GEN

Flexible motion pairing for Smart Accessory is essential for spawning and orchestrating large virtual crowds. Automatic assignment of interactive props, along with distinct accessories such as hats, glasses, and handheld items helps to differentiate each individual.

CROWD SPAWN WITH RANDOM ACCESSORIES
Skip the hassle of manual prop and accessory assignments. By adding MotionPlus files with predefined pairing accessories to ActorGen Motion Pool, large and diverse crowds can be deployed with minimal effort.
CUSTOM ACCESSORY SETS
The Actor Accessory Pool in Crowd Gen is where actor types are mapped to their wearable accessories. A collection of accessory sets can combine to add variety to crowd generated extras.
ACCESSORY GROUPS
Accessories with unique features help differentiate groups within a crowd. The Actor Accessory Pool expands the range of wearable items, while the Motion Accessory Pool manages motion-dependent accessories. Accessories can be grouped by visual characteristics, such as uniform color or style, to represent cohesive groups.
