Merging Command Clips and Extracting Sound Clips

iClone allows you to merge clips in the Command tracks (Idle, Move, Perform, Operate) into a single motion segment.

By doing so, you may then extract the clips from the command tracks, and perform further editing such as Align, Reset Pivot, and Reverse to the merged motion clip.

Merging Clips for Actors

The tracks in which the clips can be merged as single one are: Idle, Move, Perform, Operate, and Motion.

  1. Add clips into each track mentioned above.

  2. In the tool bar of the Timeline Panel, click the Collect Motion button.

  3. The clips from the named tracks will be merged as single one and put into the Motion track.

    4. Note:

    • Please note that the Collect Motion feature works only for the clips generated by AML.

    • If you want to modify the motions, please do the modification in the Motion, Motion Layer and L Hand/R Hand tracks.

Extracting Sound Clips

With the Collect Motion feature, you may also extract the sound embedded in the clips generated by AML, such as the sound from the Perform or Move clips.

  1. Have the actor perform (with voice) and move with commands. You may see the Perform and Move tracks are filled up with new clips.

  2. Click the Collect Motion button.

  3. The sound from the perform clips will be extracted to Viseme and Expression tracks, while the sound from the move clips will be extracted to the Sound track.
