Exporting in FBX format

The FBX format is widely used for 3D model and motion data exchange. You can export models into this format in order to load the models as static props into most CG and game engine software. After they are loaded, the meshes can then be re-edited to form a prop with an ideal shape.
The supporting status for FBX format according to each tool is described in the following table:

Exporting Static Props in FBX Format

  1. Import a model which contains mesh only.
  2. Execute the File > Export to Other 3D Format > Export FBX... command.
  3. In the Export FBX panel, select the desired 3D tool from the Target Tool Preset drop-down list. Please refer to The Settings for Exporting an FBX File section for more information about the details of each preset option.
  4. Click the OK button to export the model.
  5. Import the FBX file into your target 3D tools.
