Eric Rosner – CrazyTalk Quotes

Eric Rosner - has been the Director of Animation for TV Land and Nick at Nite for on-air promos for the last 7 years. Previously he has worked for Nickelodeon for 6 years and various other MTV channels. He has always been interested in animation and 3D graphics. He eagerly awaits the next generation of software and hardware to punch out exciting new graphics. He created the short animation films, Barry and My Ma and Me are Cops to add to his new internet portal, DUH!, a unique collection of short films.

�When I first saw CrazyTalk at Siggraph 2005, I found it quite impressive but I had no need for it. That was until I had to make a pumpkin speak for a Halloween promo. The amazing CrazyTalk software saved my ass and worked like butter. It is truly an amazing piece of software that has no equal. Then I realized that I could use this software for my own personal productions. Until CrazyTalk, the most difficult aspect of creating my animations was the lip sync. It was tedious, labor intensive drudgery that I despised but CrazyTalk changed all that. Not only did it solve the lip-sync problem but the array of pre-set emotions allowed me to take my characters into a new dimension. Emotions! I never could have imagined that it would be possible. My characters had personality and it was wonder bar.

My current productions �Barry� and �My Ma and Me are Cops� depend 100% on the abilities of CrazyTalk. I usually create three episodes at a time. So I audio record a batch of my characters' voices...the character Ma and Barry and others. Then I must convert the file into a wave format...then I have a Barry face and a Ma face with a green screen background...I pop in the audio and get the face to conform to the specific audio dialog and then end various emotion pre-sets to go with the dialog....then the file is outputted to an avi format...copied to my Mac and then converted to a QuickTime movie and brought into Adobe After Effects, where I do the animation creation. Although, I think After Effects 7 will now bring in avi formats, so that would save a step.�-- Eric Rosner
