The auto-fitting of the four anchor points position the eyes and the mouth, and create an approximate wire frame that fits the face. The fitting tools provide more control over the frame components and enable you to position them with more precision.
Click Basic Facial Mode or Detailed Facial Mode to fine tune the fitting process. The basic model provides 23 points on the wire frame while the detailed model provides more points to adjust the wire frame. Move the individual points and resize the wires to ensure that the wire frame fits the image to the highest degree of accuracy. Note that you can move the points in all directions. Experiment with frame fitting with various images to get more practice and see what kind of frame produces the most realistic talking image.
Use the wire frame tools on top of the preview window as follows:
Click Change Wireframe Color to select a color for the wire frame that is more easily visible. This may be required if the original image is dark and the wire frame color is also dark, causing errors in fitting.
Click Move to move components of the wire frame. This is the selected default tool. You can move wires that connect the frame points or the individual wire frame points using the mouse to select the component. The mouse cursor changes shape and color when you move the wire or the wire frame points. You can also move the frame points along the wires to get a wire shape more suited to the face contours. To move multiple points simultaneously, press Ctrl and click the required control points. The selected control points will turn red. Release the Ctrl key and then move the points to the required location.
Click Rotate to rotate the wire frame or the frame component (wire). To use this tool, first select a frame component or a wire using the Move tool. The selected wire gets highlighted. Next, click the Rotate icon. Hold and rotate the mouse over the image in clockwise or counter-clockwise direction. The selected frame rotates.
Click Scale to adjust the size of the wire frame. To use this tool, first select a frame component or a wire using the Move tool. The selected wire gets highlighted. Next, click the Scale icon. Now position the cursor over the image and drag up or down to increase or decrease the size of the wire respectively.
Click Close Mouth Points to close the mouth points of the wire frame. This will cause the points for the upper and lower lip to move together as a single line. If your model has a closed mouth we suggest you use this option. This option is available only when you select the Detailed Facial Mode.
Use Zoom In , Zoom Out , Hand , Fit to Window , Original Size , and Drag and Zoom tools to enlarge the image and achieve a more precise location for all the anchor points. To use the drag and zoom tool, drag a marquee across the image to enlarge that part of the image. Press the Full Screen View button or F11 for full screen view. Press Esc to exit full screen view.
Click the Preview Mode button periodically while adjusting the wire frame to make sure that the fitting results are satisfactory. Use the playback control buttons (, , ) at the bottom of the preview window to play back a sample script and test the fitting results. The sample script consists of different expressions, gestures, and voice types to enable you to see if the talking image is realistic enough.
Click Calibration button to view the demonstrations playback of various parts of the facial movement. Click the down arrow next to it to select the desired part on the face for the demonstration.
