Cinematic Camerawork

Art & Techniques for Visual Storytelling

The Camera Control Panel is where visuals and storytelling are interwoven with a range of cinematographic tools. Directors can save their favorite shots, perform live previews, and set up camera cuts and triggers for Puppet Stage, achieving lifelike results that rival professional techniques.
Engaging Camerawork

Take storytelling to the next level with live camera controls. Store camera angles and assign hotkeys for easy retrieval. By becoming a virtual cinematographer, you can freely toggle among camera cuts during playback and direct the narrative as it unravels. Works with Puppet Stage >

Camera cuts can be easily stored and recalled from a straightforward hotkey setup. Once applied, the camera keys are organized within the Camera Switch Track, allowing full keyframe adjustment in the timeline editor.

Camera Tracking & Toggle

Keeping the camera on the action should not be a time-wasting challenge. Simply select a target for tracking, and Cartoon Animator handles the rest—even for twitchy roadrunners. You can switch between tracking and roaming shots at any moment. If needed, a rough take can be refined easily by adjusting camera keyframes in the timeline editor.

Simulate Real Camera Operation

Truck the camera to track fast action sequences, zoom in for dialogue-heavy close-ups, or dolly zoom for dramatic disorientation. Any camera effect can be created and conveniently managed with the Camera Control Panel.

Chase Cam and Damper

Simulating handheld camera movement adds the necessary touch to audience immersion. Behind this deceptively simple approach, are sophisticated methods that include natural damping to abrupt movements and inertial delay from tracking fast-moving subjects. Cartoon Animator makes it simple: Motion Pilot Flocking automates camera delay and Spring dynamics can replicate the shakiness of chase cameras. Achieving authentic and visually engaging experiences has never been easier.
