Any progress on this issue? Good to see the issue is now assigned to be looked into, but it's been two months since this was flagged as a bug. I've also spent two weeks solving this problem in blender and reexporting, but that is a horrible workflow. Looking forward to see this resolved. Thanks, Iwan
Link is in previous comment... By the way, I think the issue is simple to reproduce. Many Daz clothes have ~10+ materials which are effectively duplicates that you could link down to 3 or so. After linking, (and I didn't use the paint bucket), you'd go ahead actually merge them down to the 3. There is a really high chance of error in a scenario like this upon Unity export; like 50%.
