Issue 5263
Subdivision needs to have a global option for Real-time Preview
As it appears, a former default smoothing method, which now called Tessellation, is not very well suited for Iray .mi export. While it spares iClone performance vise, it does end up enormously inflating .mi export size.

A new Subdivision method for smoothing would be more suited for .mi export as it has less impact on the export size than Tessellation.
And in CC3 I already see the labels above 2 levels of subdivision, which specifically refer to Iray: "Iray Preview Render" and "Iray Background Render"

However, Subdivision is stressful for iClone if Subdivision level for Preview is set above 0. We cannot permanently have it set to 1 for objects, which need Subdivision.

I propose to have an additional control in "Preferences" > "Real-time Render Options" specifically for "Subdivision for Real-time / Iray Preview", so it can be turned ON/OFF globally, while leaving a "Subdivision for Final Render / Iray Background render" unaffected.

I've brought up the same issues. Reallusion has informed me that Subdivision is not natively supported and might be adding this to the standalone as a future update. So once exported the standalone project files apply subdivision automatically based on export settings and hopefully have the choice to apply subdivision settings manually in the Standalone Renderer.

The Realtime render options was also a bit frustrating in the beginning if you set iClone to quick render to save on resources without realizing that it disables the displacement & tessellation and would have to manually enable that if you wanted to see it.

Suggested for future updates.
