After some experimentation, I see that what you are saying is correct. However, The way it stands (not showing the current default when editing) can cause some uncertainty.

I don't understand. Regardless of what I change the "Default Key Tangent" to, the default remain "Ease in/Ease out". I have to edit each move in the timeline to get what I want. If you're saying that the default is now, and forever will be "Ease in/ Ease out" that would be fine, but you shouldn't indicate that it can be changed. In the example I sent, the when played it was still motion produced was "Ease in/ Ease out" and not the "linear" I had selected. The project plays with the original default, not the selected default.
Hi bobu2357, Whatever you set “Default Key Tangent” in Preference panel，Transition Curve Presets is forever “Default ”.But when you play project，you can see the Transition Curve Presets as you set in preference panel. Reallusion
