The following mockup suggests how we could make it very easy to translate sequential images into an animated sprite. Note that it adds them to the timeline with an interval spacing of 0 or more frames.
However, since producing the graphic, it occurs to me that the simplest thing would be for this feature to ask for a folder containing the sequential images, starting with "00.png" and ending with a max of "99.png." The app would write to an error log if "00" is missing or there is a gap in the sequence.
