Particles emitters still affect reflections even when it's invisible. (eye shut)
I was using the emitter for swirling dust clouds in front of a wall, the clouds made a reflection onto a wall.
When I turned it off to render a version without the emitter by hiding it in the scene list (eye shut) the reflection onto the wall was still occurring as if it was visible. I deleted the particles emitter for it to stop the flickering. I could have turn off the emitter also.

Usually, when things are invisible they don't cause shadows so they should not cause reflections either.

Then I'll have to find out why particles are invisible yet cast a reflection.

Hi Dragonskunk,

When you hide particle in scene manager, only particle dummy is hided , not particle itself. So the reflection is still occurring.

Why are you giving advise on a BUG report in the first place?

No thanks!
I don't need to a tutorial on how to turn off particles.

Hi Dragonskunk,

Particle is not turned to off by hiding in scene manager. If you want to turn it off, please open particle's Modify panel > Popcorn tab, General section choose Off button.
