Issue 1946
Option for disabling automatically placed keyframes in timeline.
It is VERY bothersome to be in the middle of the timeline and having to change something, just to have to go and erase the keyframe you accidentally created from doing that.

EXAMPLE: You are testing out an animation and using a scene camera. You need to take a look at something in the middle of the timeline or test out a different light color. So you move to about 20 seconds, adjust something and it looks good. But now there's a keyframe there and you have to go back and erase it.

Can there be an option to make it so this doesn't happen? PLEEEAASE! I (and others) have been asking for this since version 4.

Heck, if this feature is in 7 I'll pre-order it right now. Everything else looks great but that REALLY ruins it for me.

Thanks.

a) I agree this would be a fine OPTION.

b) I also feel obligated to point out the downside of turning off auto-keyframe... What happens when you forget to turn it on? I would hate to spend several minutes carefully positioninng characters and props, then move my timeline, only to discover that I forgot to make a keyframe to save my hard work.

If I accidentally create a keyframe, I can delete it in 6 seconds. If I forgot to create one, I could lose much more time. So which option carries the most risk?

Bottom line:
- Option... okay... and a corresponding hotkey would be good
- Default behavior... leave it as it is today (Auto-keyframe = On)

I couldn't agree more, this is necessary. I am however happy that they have added the "remove all animation" option to objects. But would it be so hard to go one step
further?
