I realize that this has been mentioned before but the response makes no sense. I want to put a few tufts of grass in a scene. When I click on that prop, it places one tuft, which cannot then be moved. This is unexpected behavior.
I understand that there is a performance issue with handling multiple instances of grass as separate objects. That doesn't help me figure out how to place grass where I want it. Where is a CURRENT description of how to put a tuft of grass where I want it in a scene.
This should not be a difficult problem to solve and the fact that it's a recurrent question shows that there's counter-intuitive design going on here. Please help! Tell me how to do what I want to do, not why you've implemented that way.
You could try linking all the grass to a dummy object. Some prop or objects are difficult to select in the viewport do find them in the scene tab ans select them from there. Also using the Q key and left click and drag over the desired item in the viewport, usually will aid in making a selection of one or more. objects. This is also a good time to name the props in the scene tab.
