Issue 11423
Motion Direction Control has a mind of its own
This is the third project im seeing this issue in. Could it be i pressed something wrong or does motion direction control have a bug?
Heres how it goes: I create a scene with well over a 1mil triangles and a few characters. At least one of the characters should have a large number of various motions clips. Then while working on the character's motion, the direction control feature suddenly starts acting weird, and this happens with all motions i introduce nomatter it shipped with iClone8, or its purchased, or just downloaded free.
-Using only one axis, doesnt matter which, on the motion dir control Gizmo rotates the character on at least 2 different axis.
-The thing just has a life of its own.
See video: https://youtu.be/_BfvZoPK-dE

When i try to ditch the gizmo and manually edit the numbers on only one of the axis, still it changes the other axis. And the numbers it inserts are just ridiculous. Using the arrows to get just 1 increment also doesnt work as it gives the gazillion digit number in the other axis.
See video: https://youtu.be/HMiS2XiInXw

What confuses me most is that this issue seems to restricts itself to the character that has got the most motion files added to it. I tried recreating this error on characters that have less animations but failed - both in this project and others.
So is this a bug or am i missing something?

Hello,
and thank you for the response. Its a huge file, so i reduced it to the bare bones.
I uploaded to Googledrive: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1n1V6lARzlz1mAG38jax7fj1ZfxvMlILE/view?usp=sharing

Please let me know if there's anything else. Regards.

Hi linus10111,

1.While using the motion direction control, the gizmo does not rotate in the direction I wish it to. Rotating on the x-axis moves it in the y-axis and rotation in the y-axis moves it in the x-axis.
>> Yes,this is a bug.I already noticed it when I used your project before, and I have sent it to our development. It is caused by changing the Z-axis rotation.

Hello,
apologies for the delayed response. I have been trying but failed to reproduce the error.
I'm still working on the same project, so I'll upload it when the error pops up again.

But while on this same project I sent you, i noticed something strange which I missed before:
1.While using the motion direction control, the gizmo does not rotate in the direction I wish it to. Rotating on the x-axis moves it in the y-axis and rotation in the y-axis moves it in the x-axis.
2.Also cannot zero out rotation in the motion direction control tab.

For both issues, see video: https://youtu.be/iIGwNHhcQJk

Hi linus10111,
I have got it.Thanks.

Q1:
-Using only one axis, doesnt matter which, on the motion dir control Gizmo rotates the character on at least 2 different axis.
>> It's a bit difficult to explain, but this is expected.

Q2:
-Using the arrows to get just 1 increment also doesnt work as it gives the gazillion digit number in the other axis.
>> This is a bug.But I can't repeat it with your project. Can you provide the project file in your video?
