Issue 3392
Many problems with animating face using puppet and animating the character in general
Boy, where to begin. First all of this is happening with my first animation in Crazy Talk, and I am using Saul's body with a custom face fitted photo. What's basically happening is, if I use the face puppet, things go okay. But then I'll animate part of the body, or - actually to keep this simple I'll then go and try to use the face key editor. Using the morph menu. Some times it will work, other times it wont adjust the face at all. And I am using the face key editor AFTER the clip that's been laid down by the face puppet. Sometimes I can get it to start to work by clicking on detail settings, and hitting reset, or adjusting some of the sliders in this section. Other times this won't work at all and I have to go back to face puppet to get some expressions on the face. And I just noticed, as of 10 minutes ago, that if I start scrubbing along the timeline while the face key editor is open, it will start to lay down key frames, which is something obviously I don't want to happen since the reason I am scrubbing is to check out how the animation looks and to make decisions. It wont always do this. All of this seems to happen after I've been working on the project for a little bit. It's acting as if the program is running out of memory and starts screwing up. Another thing that happens. If I start doing animations with the body, using the 3d editor, the facial animation doesn't play back at the right place anymore. It gets shifted further up the timeline even though the clip hasn't moved. The only way I've found to correct this ( so far ) is to collect the facial and body clips, save them, remove the animations from the character and import them back in.
I also have Crazy Talk animator 2 that I downloaded on the same day, and for some reason I have to shortcut paths to Crazy Talk Animator 2 sitting on my desk top. I dunno I'm just relaying that information in case this has anything to do with any of this. If there was someway to increase the programs memory I'd try that but this doesn't seem to be an option.

I have never been able to use face puppet to already applied body animations and facial expressions in iclone 7. It has been very frustrating. The face key works fantastic though but if I cannot layer head and eye movements then what is the point? It can be daunting to see a tutorial when someone jumps right in and uses this feature when the only time I've gotten it to work was without any other animations applied.
