JPEG compression is not preserved when exporting to OBJ
The issue is related to CC3, Morph Creator and 3DExchange. But I decided to open the issue under iClone because the objects were originally sent to all 3 applications from iClone.
Basically, no matter where you export the object/avatar to OBJ from (CC, Morphs Creator or 3DExchange), ALL JPEG texture images are getting uncompressed while being collected to the folder.
Steps to replicate:
* Send an avatar to CC, Morph Creator or 3DX * Export to OBJ and to FBX * Compare JPEG texture size between 2 exports (OBJ and FBX)
One more about JPEG compression. Whenever the texture with JPEG image is un-linked and then linked back for materials, it is getting converted to PNG.
This is unacceptable as in most of the cases PNG image size would substantially exceed compressed JPEG size.
