Issue 3368
Import video
Importing mp4, or avi video as background, works for a second then stops. Running it again produces no movement. Open 'New project' results in error message 'Failed to load the file'. selecting ok it displays the same message again. The only way out is to quit the program and reload it.
I tried the same video's in Iclone 6.5 and they worked without any problems.

Hi piqs,

Sorry for your inconvenience, I am responsible for the video texture (and background video).
Could you help to provide the "DirectX diagnosis" file to us, it contains informations on what kind of video codec is registered in Windows.

To get the DxDiag file:
1. Select the "Start" menu, click "run" or press <Win Key> + <R>.
2. Input "dxdiag" & click "ok".
3. It will check your system for a while, after finish, click "save all information".
4. Save "DxDiag.txt".

What kind of "mp4,avi" are you using as source, are those h.264 videos ? Are they recorded by mobile phone ?
Are these clips seekable in video player ? Is it possible that you provide us with a small clip that could reproduce this issue ?

You can use cloud services such as Google Drive, Dropbox or OneDrive to make the files available to us and email the link with "FT3368" in the email title to feedbacktrackeradmin@reallusion.com. (or weienchen@reallusion.com)

Sorry to ask so many questions, it seems we couldn't reproduce this kind of issues, so we're trying our best to reproduce it. Once we could reproduce it, we can fix it.

.Update. Appears to be a faulty codec which 6.5 picked up and informed me ...codec is not recognised in your system... but still allowed me to start a new project. Iclone 7 did not do anything other than freeze.
