Hi Joanne, The grids are used for framing shots both for photography composition and film composition. Normally when you are shooting with a film camera or stills camera there is a toggle on/off grid option to help with framing your composition. Title/Action Safety areas and Rule of Thirds. Title/Action Safety for different filming formats like 235:1, 185:1, 16:9, 4:3 and so on. Here are some links that explain further. https://www.studiobinder.com/blog/what-is-the-rule-of-thirds/ https://www.premiumbeat.com/blog/rule-of-thirds-filmmaking/ Title/Action Safety grid. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YN_fxlVg9kk Camera composition grids. https://support.apple.com/en-gb/guide/motion/motn12147703/mac Thank you.
