When trying to create a character head with thick outlines and masks within those outlines, the mask always takes up the entire "face:" layer despite following the correct structure. In the example in the image attached, I created a mask layer that is smaller, the facial elements should mask within the lines but it does not work.

I discovered the issue. It's actually a completely different problem. It seems we cannot duplicate layers and change their names. When we do so CTA5 seems to record the OG name of the layer. I discovered this when I duplicated the eye layer and flipped them. It might be something to look into. Right now my issue is resolved if I duplicate the path beneath the layer group and create a new layer group with a new name rather than the layer group itself.
