Issue 6162
"Eliminate Shadow Artifact" does not work with MI Export
A few users reported it in the past. And I just found out it is a bug.

"Eliminate Shadow Artifact" works fine in Preview mode, but not in the MI Export (see screenshots)

Apparently Scene Options section is missing relevant attribute: attribute boolean "shadow_terminator_offset" true

After inserting this attribute into MI Export, the "Eliminate Shadow Artifact" becomes in effect (last screenshot)

Hi Soya,

I thought so too about those 2 parameters while reading NVIDIA manual. But in reality it is different.
I do not use any special project. Just New project with base male added.

Hi 4u2ges,

Actually "shadow_terminator_offset_mode" and "shadow_terminator_offset" are almost the same attribute to smooth shadow.

The difference is that "shadow_terminator_offset_mode" version is global attribute that allows to override the per-object boolean attribute "shadow_terminator_offset" globally for all scene objects.
We have tested the "Eliminate Shadow Artifact" and it worked fine on standalone renderer( MI render ).

We are afraid there is some other problem that would cause such shadow artifact. Can you please give me the project to render? Thank you so much.

Soya
