The issue is: If you drag an "Expression" to the timeline, EVERY other expression on the timeline to the right of it will be deleted. This is not how it works when you drag Motion onto the timeline.
The previous issue was closed because the Reallusion staff member misinterpretted the issue. They thought this only applied to clips where the Expression overlapped another Expression. But the problem is that this occurs even if there's no overlap.
I've created this short video to very clearly demonstrate the problem, and to show how Expressions behave differently to Motion:
In this video, you can see that I drag a Motion clip onto the timeline, and this does not affect the other Motion clips on the timeline. However, when I drag an Expression clip onto the timeline, it deletes the Expression clip to the right of it. That's the bug.
Okay, I do see how enabling "Express Clip Auto Crop" causes the problem to resurface. But good to know the workaround is so simple. Thanks.

I've just updated to iCline 8.5 today, and this bug is no longer occurring. Seems to be fixed in the latest version. (Though I didn't see anything in the patch notes, unless I overlooked it.)
