Issue 5820
Accessing Reallusion webpages
When I try to open the help within iclone firefox reports the tab has crashed.
Now I use ghostery to stop snooping by third parties, if I turn ghostery off before I try to open the help page then it loads fine. This is also true of the members login page which fails to load the login boxes with ghostery turned on. This means Reallusion is creating Webpage's that cannot or will not deal with an anti tracking plugins.

This action represents a denial of access to services which I am entitled to because I dont wish to be tracked.

I have a right to privacy and reallusion has a duty to respect it.

" Alexa metrics" "Google Analytics" or "google tag manager" are of no benefit or offer any "Convenience" to me and I have no need of them. But clearly Reallusion benifits from this tracking otherwise why block access upon detection of anti tracking software.

I have dozens of other accounts with other web companies none of which have a problem with the ghostery plugin and work without any loss of function to webpages, so it seems that Reallusion is actively blocking webpage function's upon the detection of anti tracking plugin's in order to violate my right to protect my privacy............. And NO your privacy policy does not grant you supercedence over my basic rights.

There is a pattern developing here I also reported the intrusive nature of your HUB program of which I think there has since been 3 interations without any changes to address those complaints as such I still have to disable it after updates and installs.

Another tell is Reallusions statement on the submission popup

The issue with you being unable to reproduce the problem might come from that your computors are inside your network not outside like I am. If you run an intranet all of you IP's are from your DNS. and treated differently to and outside IP. Try connecting a computor from outside your network.

The HUB issue
Heres the text from the forum I wrote
----------------------------------------------------------
Anyone know how to stop this " HUB app" from starting when one of the main programs is run, without having to disable it. I dont want to bust Reallusions bubble here but theirs are not the only programs I run on my PC and when I finished using a program I dont want to have to keep manually terminating secondary apps,. With no program's running it's the biggest process on my PC
I dont mind the update check bit but the rest of it offers no benefit to me at all.
I dont need an app dashboard, I have a desktop neatly arranged and organised and have for at least 25 years been able to find my program's without any third party assistance.
I dont need the try outs section as I have this thing called a URL shortcut to Reallusions website
None of which I would care about if Reallusion allowed me to configure the how when and what in the app, Ideally Run check for updates then close if none found. at the very least close it when the main program is closed and not hang around,
I knew something was up when I was "FORCED" to install the HUB duing the last round of updates. The give away was one of the few settings was to "Run Reallusion HUB when my computor starts" "WHAT"
Other people may find it useful and that's good, But for me all it does is force a Reallusion presence onto my PC taskbar and into precious memory.

Without trying to be abbrasive... Your needs are different to my needs if you know the answer great and is much appriciated. If you dont I wont be persuaded otherwise
For now I have disabled it.

My point about HUB is that for manys users I am sure it's very helpful. But there are many others like me where it's not helpful and not giving users the option to configure it without having to cripple it is intrusive and disrespectful. I am not a professional programmer but I've written enough VB and VBA to know it's good practice to build functions into modules making them callable from anyware within a program structure and therefore easy enough to turn on and off.......... Another member complained that the "Your program is up to date " dialogue popped up every time they started iclone or 3Dxchange. I advised them to disable HUB and it fixed the problem.

Fair enough about the comments but a clearer statement about the type of comments you reserve the right to delete or edit, because as it stands it implies censorship of criticism

Hi, blindman,

We have tested the situations you mentioned, we installed the ghostery to Chrome and Firefox on Windows and Mac, and tested the online help and member login pages, seen that the ghostery blocked "Alexa metrics", "Google Analytics" and "google tag manager", but the web pages are still worked fine.

Could you describe more specifically what issues you encountered with the HUB program?

About the "Reallusion retain the right to delete or edit your post", some people will put abusing words or advertise link in a post or a comment of other user's post, we will turn off those posts or comments to protect our users. You should have no need to worry about that.
