Issue 461
Avatar Toolkit 2.5/3.0 - a True Avatar Controller for ALL iClone iAvatars
Avatar Toolkit has superior puppeteering features to legacy iClone Puppet tools

-Ability to set key and reset key where the action is (under-sold)
-Ability to dynamically snap/ flex morph in REAL-TIME (under-exploited by RL)
-Ability to control multiple joints at the same time (under-integrated)
-Ability to link MATERIALS (so under-sold that wrinkle/HD morph seekers haven't noticed this AT potential)

Despite its label, Avatar Toolkit's avatar-controlling abilities are limited to iAcc/ 2 G5 family subsets
The only universal access AT controller is the "Expression" tab
AT's Expression controller are mostly ignored because
1. it OVERWRITES previous motion clip!
(And iClone has only ONE layer of morph clip on timeline track!)
2. it takes FOREVER to set one morph onto its AT control point!
(Avatar Toolkit morph setting tedium is exacerbated by iClone's already mind-numbingly fiddly derivative morph loading processes. Confusing, even for disciplined Toonmaker and Monsters users. who eventually worked out the convoluted steps needed to DERIVE a motion clip of a rabbit head being squashed out of a Face Puppet teased-out Timeline morph clip which is derived from some pre-derived 3DXC morph presets which need to be derived from custom morph targets imported at runtime due to limited 3DX face puppet predefined morph slots!)
(Hence the calls for iClone internal morph sliders in Feedback Tracker Issue #293 & #429)
----

Suggestion for next version of Avatar Toolkit (2.5 or paid 3.0)

- will auto-set RL_Convention_Joint_Sets to existing AT tabs: Brows, Eyes, Ears, (Cheek, Tongue...)
- will set /control all iAvatar's key-able bones in Edit Motion Layer
(including soon-to-be exposed Face & Extended Bones)
- will have a 6th (or improved 5th) AnythingGoes! tab with free-position, unlimited Setting Points
(Like Puppeteer in Daz Studio/ Carrara: which allow immense POSE TO POSE REMIX potential)
- will chain WYSIWYG in viewport - posed joints, multi-mat, multi-morphs
- will control NON-HUMAN characters bones and Perform clips too!
- Possible to save to library and reuse "AT TAB SETS" on identical iAvatar family/ iAcc
- produces multiple Expression clips: Blendable OR New Clip Layer option
(Hitfilm/Vegas-savvy iCloners are over-riped for NLA MULTI-LAYER MOTION CLIPS)

Misc Avatar Toolkit UI tuning:
- AT builder/ controller dockable
- doubleclick AT items in Scene Manager or on AT dummies in viewport to maximise/reopen (no need context>Script)
- ability to drag minimized tab anywhere on screen, or made a toolbar item/button
- Loaded morphs and AT Tab Sets identifiable visually via (hover zoom popup) thumbnail
(Make Thumbnail option on each AT set points and saved to library AT tab sets)

Consider Avatar Toolkit replacing Face Puppet, as the main unimesh unified iavatar controller
(and to compensate for the severely-stripped MTs-reduced iC6 Face Key user interface)
also as an solution to existing profiles+morph loading redundancies
- Avatar Toolkit DIRECT LINKING to any given iAvatar's profile's embedded imported 3DX morph targets.
- AT already has morph sliders - and very snappy ones too! So morph sets (2 morph poses each) can be made and saved to library as "AT tab sets" thereby addressing the feverish need for dynamic morph sliders.

Just thinking aloud...on an otherwise fabulous animation tool that is IMHO under-integrated and under-sold.

Thank you for listening
and thank you for your kind consideration.

An updated avatar controller has so much potential. I like all of OP's suggestions, especially linking them to morphs.

The Avatar Controller is a much better and easier tool to use than the other puppeteering tools in Iclone. This gets my vote for sure.
